Covid-19 Update

Sunday school is now back open. We can’t wait to get stuck into our Sunday School sessions with you all again!

What is

Sunday School?

We run a Sunday School catering for ages 3 to 12 alongside part of our Sunday morning service. All the children and helpers leave about halfway through our Sunday morning service and are led across to the rear section of our building. They gather to share news from their weeks and pray, and then go into three groups for age appropriate group activities. If you are new to church, you are welcome to accompany your child across to Sunday School.

If you have younger children they are welcome to use our Toddler toys in our rear hall.  We also have baby changing facilities in the toilets off our rear hall.

Sunday School is a free activity and an opportunity for children to learn more about God and ask questions! As a church we believe that church is for everyone, for all ages and all backgrounds – everyone is welcome.

Each week our Sunday School sessions are based on a simple Bible story or character. Children will have the opportunity to read from the Bible and ask any questions they may have. We will then move on to arts and crafts, where children will be able to get creative with the theme of the weeks story. If it is your first time at Sunday School or your child is feeling a bit nervous about attending, please feel free to accompany your child, so you can see all that we get up to.

Sunday school is all about friendship, fun and Jesus!

Safeguarding

Running a welcoming and friendly Sunday School is an integral part of our Church life and we love seeing our children grow in their walk with Jesus.

Our Sunday School teams include teachers and volunteers who have all completed a DBS check. We ask all parents to fill in a record sheet on first arrival, to give contact details etc.

If there any changes to the Sunday School set up, as parents you will be the first to know. Your child’s safety is our priority and we are more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

Sharing & Prayer time

Each week we encourage children to share about their weeks, the good and the bad. Together we then pray for all those in Sunday School and their families. We believe this a great way for children to learn about kindness, sharing, friendship and how we can live a little more like Jesus

Arts & Craft

We put together fun and challenging arts and crafts that relate to the Bible story we looked at that morning. We believe this a great way for children to understand the Bible in a simple and fun way.
